My Mission

Bringing awareness to eating disorders is a huge part of my mission. Many people who have eating disorders don't even understand that they have one because they aren't educated on the topic well enough or they think it is normal. I want to get the word out there and I want to teach young women and men to love themselves first. I learned this lesson at a young age and it was the biggest challenge I have had to overcome. My journey of learning to love myself gave me strength and my voice. This is a lifelong lesson that I believe every young woman and man should be taught. To be able to look yourself in the mirror and to truly believe that you are uniquely enough, physically, and emotionally.

So what now?

I have partnered with Sweetser, a Mental Health facility that has a NEED program. The NEED program helps people who are going through what I once did. They do truly amazing work, so everything raised through the #TrulyMe goes to their organization. To raise money, I sent letters around my community to get the word out about what I've been doing, and I got many kind donations from that. I then made Truly Me bracelets and sweatshirts (ALL funds go to Sweetser). I've sold them in my school and community. To donate or buy a sweatshirt click below!

My Goal

I would like to continue doing the work that I have been doing, but also I would soon love to speak at some schools in Maine. I would like to speak about my story and show others that it is okay if they are going through what I once did and not to be ashamed of it. The topic isn't talked about enough and the most important thing is to speak up. Another goal that I have is to raise $5,000+ for Sweetser. We are at $4,000 now so we are more than halfway there!

We have met our original goal of $2,000! Thank you to all of those buying Truly Me merchandise and the many generous donations we have received! Just recently we surpassed $4,000 in funds because of a very generous anonymous donation! I am so grateful for everyone's support for the cause, thank you so much! It couldn't have happened without you all!

Our NEW GOAL is now $5,000. We got this!

Giving the check to Sweetser!

After such a crazy crazy year, I was finally able to hand over a check with the funds raised to Sweetser! It was such a heartwarming experience to meet with Todd Henry, the director of development, and to be surprised by Dr. Lockhart. Dr. Lockhart was the very therapist who once helped me when I went through an eating disorder myself. I am so so very excited to see what they do with the funds raised! It most likely will be for those in their NEED program who can't afford the care they offer. I will continue on with raising funds, but I am very grateful for what we have accomplished so far!

How can you help?

There are various ways that you can help, not only just donating! Of course, you can buy a sweatshirt, bracelet, or donate an amount of your choosing to help, but you can spread the word too! By letting people know about the Truly Me fundraiser through social media or your community it not only would help raise funds for eating disorders, but it would also bring awareness to the mental illness! You can also help by educating yourself on the mental illness. I have some facts listed below, but there is WAY more than that to know!
